I'm enjoying it (still new with 7) but don't like the part in that I tell if there is a new or responding message in office communicator (with sound off). Just a blink down below if I happen to look in that direction of the task bar. Looking for a way to allow new IMs to popup or something..

I'd like to find a fix for the non-popup communicator window as well. Ever since Windows 7 my Office Communicator window has stopped popping-up. The only warning I get that I have a new IM is a flashing icon in the task bar and I don't always see it right away.
Is there a registry change that can be made?

I found this blog after googling for others who might be having a problem with communicator not popping up in Windows 7. Communicator is the primary I communicate with my boss outside of meetings. Ever since he upgraded to Windows 7, he ignores my IMs for hours. I have to call him to tell him I sent him an IM. We went over the Communicator options and there is nothing that will make it pop up or get his attention like it used to in WinXP. {Big Frown} for Win7 and Communicator for letting us down. If anyone has any ideas for how to get it to popup or notify when you send an IM I'd really appreciate it. :)

The OfficeCommunicator R2 pop up preview feature can be enabled again in Windows 7.

On the task bar arrow select "Customize..." look for Microsoft Office Communicator icon and select "Show Icons and notifications" on the behavior column.

Thanks so much for this post – I just found a ton of valuable demographic info for a start-up I’m thinking about doing. There are some functions, such as Internet hosting, that in many cases are easier and far less expensive to do with an external service provider than to build from scratch internally. now link my name to see something.
